            <title>Review of Auditor-General’s Report Nos 24 to 32 (2011-12)</title>

            <description>The Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit (JCPAA) is required by the Public Accounts and Audit Committee Act 1951 to examine all reports of the Auditor-General which are tabled in the Parliament. &lt;br /&gt;
The JCPAA's review procedures are built around a series of public hearings. At these hearings evidence is taken from agencies which have been the subject of recent 'significant' audit findings. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

            <title>Inquiry into Health issues across international borders </title>

            <description>The Standing Committee on Health and Ageing, after reviewing the 2010-2011 annual report of the Department of Health and Ageing and pursuant to Standing Order 215(c) resolved to inquire into and report on Health issues across international borders.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Committee will convene a series of roundtable discussions to learn about the challenges for population health in Australia which stem from its proximity to regional neighbours and increased globalisation. Specifically, the Committee will inquire into the screening, surveillance and control practices for infectious diseases in Australia, having regard to the roles and responsibilities of Commonwealth, state and non-government agencies and coordination of their activities in Australia and across regional borders.  Full Terms of Reference adopted by the Committee are outlined here.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Committee will invite various stakeholders to participate in the roundtable discussions. Details will be released in due course.&lt;br /&gt;

            <description>The Joint Committee on the National Broadband Network has been established to inquire into the rollout of the project until the NBN is operational. &lt;br /&gt;

The Committee was established under a resolution of appointment passed by the House of Representatives on 1 March 2011 and the Senate on 3 March 2011. Its specific Terms of Reference are to report to the Parliament and the Ministers for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and the Minister for Finance every six months on: &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The rollout of the NBN, including in relation to the Government's objective for NBN Co. Limited:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
connect 93 per cent of Australian homes, schools and businesses with fibre-to-the premises technology providing broadband speeds of up to 100 megabits per second, with a minimum fibre coverage obligation of 90 per cent of Australian premises; and&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
service all remaining premises by a combination of next-generation fixed wireless and satellite technologies providing peak speeds of at least 12 megabits per second;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
the achievement of take-up targets (including premises passed and covered and services activated) as set out in NBN Co.’s Corporate Plan released on 20 December 2010 as revised from time to time;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
network rollout performance including service levels and faults;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
the effectiveness of NBN Co. in meeting its obligations as set out in its Stakeholder Charter;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
NBN Co.’s strategy for engaging with consumers and handling complaints;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
NBN Co.’s risk management processes; and&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Any other matter pertaining to the NBN rollout that the Committee considers relevant.&lt;br /&gt;
